Compressed air leaving the compressor pump can exceed 300°F, carrying a large amount of water vapor. As the air cools, this vapor condenses into liquid water, allowing it to be removed by your tank drain, moisture separator, or filtration system. Cooling the air before it reaches your filters and dryers helps improve their efficiency and can reduce maintenance costs.

Installation Information:
This aftercooler typically requires custom mounting.
The most common installation is mounting the cooler to the front of the compressor belt guard, where the compressor flywheel forces air across the cooling fins. This airflow provides the cooling necessary for the aftercooler to operate efficiently.
Because compressor manufacturers use different belt guard designs, mounting hardware is not included, and some fabrication or custom mounting may be required.
Remote Mount Applications:
The BLD1335 can also be used as a remote inline aftercooler when mounted away from the compressor. In these applications, customers commonly fabricate custom brackets or frames and use one or more electric fans to force air across the cooling fins.
Remote installations are popular for:

- Applications where belt guard mounting is not practical
A very common use is installing the aftercooler before a moisture separator, coalescing filter, refrigerated dryer, or desiccant dryer. Since compressed air leaving the compressor is extremely hot, cooling it first allows the water vapor to condense into liquid moisture before it reaches your filtration equipment, and also bring air temperatures down to a safe temperature for some of these filtration requirements.
