1/2" NPT Activated Carbon Compressed Air Filter Inline FA764N Oil Vapor Removal
1/2" NPT Activated Carbon Compressed Air Filter Inline FA764N Oil Vapor Removal
1/2" NPT Activated Charcoal Compressed Air Filter – THB FA7600 Series (FA764N) With Wall Mounting Bracket
This THB Series FA764N activated charcoal filter is designed to remove oil vapors, odors, and hydrocarbon contamination from compressed air systems. Activated charcoal filters act as a final polishing stage, helping ensure extremely clean air for applications where contamination or smell could cause problems.
The 1/2" NPT ports measure approximately 3/4" in diameter for reference. This unit features a durable all-aluminum housing, making it suitable for commercial and industrial environments where reliability and corrosion resistance are important.
What an Activated Charcoal Filter Does
Activated charcoal filters work through a process called adsorption, where contaminants bond to the large surface area of the carbon media. This allows the filter to effectively remove:
• Oil vapors and hydrocarbon fumes
• Odors from compressed air systems
• Residual oil contamination that may pass through standard filters
This type of filter is commonly used in painting, spray foam, manufacturing, food processing, electronics, and other applications requiring very clean compressed air.

Maintenance
The replacement element for this unit is the FA7607. For best performance it is recommended to replace the element every 3–6 months, depending on air quality and system usage.
Installation Note
Activated charcoal filters perform best when installed after a particulate filter, coalescing filter, and dryer so that moisture and liquid oil are removed before the air reaches the carbon element. This greatly extends filter life and ensures maximum effectiveness.
